Ours by Write: A Therapeutic Writing Workshop for Women

We are storytelling creatures by nature. It’s how we make sense of ourselves and the world around us, but too often as women we’re discouraged from sharing our truths.
Join us for an 8-week autobiographical writing group for women as we une arth, explore and voice our stories, and support as other women do the same.
We’ll ask: What stories are you aching to tell? What narratives are you curious to explore? Which stories have you inherited and which stories are you (re)writing for yourself?
Each group meeting will include a writing warm-up, sharing of writing developed outside of group, supportive feedback and a closing ritual. The group will culminate in an optional 3-hour workshop where we create small handmade books of our writing.
This workshop is ideal for women who:
- are already participating in individual therapy and would like to explore writing as an adjunctive form of healing
- have stacks of journals, and want to give their words more space to breathe
- have always wanted to write, but have felt fearful, shy or otherwise shutdown
- are seeking creative, supportive community
Group meets weekly from 7-9pm | Mondays, March 2 – April 27, 2020 | Rockridge Location
This workshop is focused on the process of writing and expression, not the craft of writing. No experience is required!
Cost: $440 for 8 weeks | Maximum enrollment 6 people
(Cost does not include optional final book-making workshop)

SUMMER 2020 --
Your Most Powerful Self: An Expressive Arts Workshop for Women

What can I expect from this workshop?
Feminist author Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie writes, our society teaches girls and women to “shrink themselves, to make themselves smaller ... You can have ambition, but not too much. You should aim to be successful but not too successful ...”
This workshop offers a nourishing community space for women to begin the process of reclaiming personal power.Experience the healing force of creativity
and community as we utilize guided imagery, mask-making, writing and ritual to explore our whole selves. Participants will have an opportunity to imagine and express:
“Who would I be, if there were no limits placed upon me?
Who am I at my core?”
No arts experience necessary! Materials and refreshments are provided. Cost is $75 per person.
